Car Seat Safety

By February 20, 2013

Did you know that 80% off car seats on the road today are installed incorrectly?  A properly installed car seat can save the life of your child in an accident.  How can you tell if yours is installed correctly?  Take your car to your local police station and have them check your installation.  Some locations require an appointment, so call your local station and have your installation checked out!

What if you were to get into an accident with your child in the car?  As horrible as it sounds, what if you were unable to communicate with first responders?  The Ohio Insurance Institute and the Ohio Council of the National Association of Insurance Women International created TIKE, or Toddler Info Kept for Emergencies.  It’s a neon green sticker that includes a child’s emergency and medical information and goes on their car seat.  To order your sticker, visit the Ohio Insurance Institute website.

Remember to keep baby’s car seat rear facing in in the back seat!
